CUPE Local 458 Goes Paperless!

2013-02-11 | President

The CUPE Local 458 Executive Board voted unanimously to surrender their monthly "out of pocket" re-imbursement cheques in order to allow the Local to go paperless. Each Executive Board member has accepted an I Pad in place of the monthly stipend normally paid to them each month. Thanks to file sharing applications all Local documents can be easily accessed instantly from anywhere. What this means is that there will be no need for agendas, minutes, reports and a miriad of other documents to be mannually printed, stapled, collated and distributed, saving considerable time, money and protecting the environment at the same time. Our Local now has the ability to provide the members who attend our General Membership meetings with an instant breakdown of the agenda, past minutes, financial reports etc. on the big screen without a need for multiple paper copies of each that ultimately end up being shred following the meetings. The considerable time saved using these devices can now be spent representing our members through grievance handling, job reclassifications, medical accomodations and much, much more.
